Robert F.
Knight
Campus Director, Georgetown Campus
Bluegrass
Community and Technical College
Rob Knight is the Director for the Georgetown Campus
of Bluegrass Community and Technical College. The focus
of this campus is support of area manufacturing, providing
technical training vital to the future success of these
companies. This training is directed toward two groups,
existing employees requiring additional skills and
potential new employees as a pipeline to replace retiring
workers. The Georgetown Campus utilizes a unique open
training area simulating a manufacturing environment.
Students have the opportunity to apply the skills they
learn on manufacturing style equipment. The use of
a co-op program also provides the students with direct
manufacturing experience during their studies. Blended
learning with flexible start and end points utilizing
on-line lectures with hands on lab work provide flexibility
to companies and students while minimizing time away
from work.
Rob is also an Assistant General Manager for Toyota
Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, on loan to the College
for 2 years to lead the startup of the Georgetown Campus.
He started his career at TMMK in 1987 as an engineering
specialist, working in several positions including
Department Head for the Plastics Shop for the 5 years
prior to his move to support the College.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University
of Cincinnati. He is a registered professional engineer
in both Kentucky and Ohio.
